Tom -- I think you missed earlier emssages in this thread. The original poster is trying to use a modem equipped with *built-in* voice to make a phone call. The mike connects directly to the modem, and all that's needed (I think) is a command to turn it on. Nothing is being digitized, as I understand it; the modem is simply acting as a normal (analog) telephone.
