I'll agree with the other folks who underlined that quality is more important than quantity, but just for the record this list in 1996 had 50-60 e-mails/day. Amazingly, a large amount of the questions newbies sent in 1996 is the same as today (mostly partitioning problems, networking and the classic "which app does that?").
