I don't know which distribution you are running or if you previously installed java or not. I do know that none of the major distributions come with java installed because it is not public domain. You may acquire java for linux here: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.1/ After you install java you must also make all the links to all the programs that use java or the programs will not be able to find it. Be prepaired to spend some tine doing the down load. I have done it over a 56 K modem actually running about 48 K in just under 12 hours and I failed to do it tonight using someone else's T3 line in a hour and a half.
