Not sure I understand the above completely.. Slackware has a
source selection including sth like "Install from a mounted
directory." I tried that by creating an empty directory, /slack, and
then mounting the CD drive.. So that means, to me, that setup should
find the files at /slack/slackware.. I tried all combinations to no
avail, including trailing "/"s...

Boy wouldn't that be overkill?? I guess Americans are good at
that so maybe it's not too far fetched.. I don't do aeroplanes
anymore.. <grin>

Well - sounds good to me except I would say MSWindows because
we have our XWindows. With M$ and AOL now joining up together we had
better hunker down for the long run.. At least it's interesting, eh?
