Hi, I just though of making X more responsive by giving it a higher priority at startup. A fast graphical interface is more important to me than the speed of the applications in use. Sometimes when the system is under heavy load, swiching to X as well as redrawing certain areas of the screen when windows are moved has a long lag. One could now use the nice program to give it higher priority. Before trying I would like to know what you think of this and whether it makes sense at all.
Thank you, Axel Siebenwirth -- Scotty: Captain, we din' can reference it! Kirk: Analysis, Mr. Spock? Spock: Captain, it doesn't appear in the symbol table. Kirk: Then it's of external origin? Spock: Affirmative. Kirk: Mr. Sulu, go to pass two. Sulu: Aye aye, sir, going to pass two. - To unsubscribe from this list: send the line "unsubscribe linux-newbie" in the body of a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] More majordomo info at http://vger.kernel.org/majordomo-info.html Please read the FAQ at http://www.linux-learn.org/faqs
