Hello All.

Now i have a question maybe someone could help me for a change.

I have never used printers under linux other than an old matrix printer which
worked flawlessly for years when i needed it.
I have now got a HP-3420 (cheapo thing) but it works well execpt i need to get
it aligned properly.

I did align it under windows XP but Linux prints on the page with a left
margin (as it were) of 0.6cm. which means i need to get the printer to print
to the left by 0.3cm.
Also the vertical postion needs lowering by 1,5cm's.
The test page prints evenly from top to botton, no offset top right to botton
right.

I tryed the align.ps script but that changed nothing i used the lpotions
program as adised to set the values but no go i'm afraid, yes it was done as
root, no permissions problems.

Other than the alignment problem its perfect.

I wonder who can help, please dont point me to google as i have been there
done that of course and been to linuxprinting, obviously i am missing
something, but what.??

Cups version 1.1.18 (standard slackware 9.0 install).
hpijs version 1.4.1

try to imitate windows programs, then the Windows community
is built on organized crime.
