You don't need to write a script that identifies the host. The script will
just wait for the login prompt & ignore everything else after the script
recognizes "CONNECT" (sent by your modem). Most scripts look for "ogin:"
before it sends the user ID. Similarly, most scripts look for "ssword:"
before sending the password.

I might be a little off the mark here but I believe that you need to add
the secondary DNS address to /etc/resolv.conf. Is that what you are
asking?
