I think your nameserver (in /etc/resolv.conf) is not setup. When you're
connected, try to ping 193.190.253.36 (ping -c 10 193.190.253.36). That's
a sample ip address on the net. If you get a reply, your ppp connection is
indeed running.
If it is running allright, the problem is your nameserver. In
/etc/resolv.conf you should have the following information:
search compuserv.com
nameserver 127.0.0.1
nameserver 194.7.1.4
nameserver 194.7.15.70
In your case, you would have 2 entrys, your isp's first and second
nameserver. Normally they provide this info when you get a subscription,
so check your docs. If not, just mail them.
