According to Jerome Tan: While burning my CPU. > > Hi there, > > Do I need to acquire a new kernel eventhough my kernel is version 2.0.34 to > use VFAT? No you can use 2.0.34. Just read /usr/src/linux/README "Carefully" digest what is written there within and then, make a new kernel, do not forget to install the new kernel, and rerun LILO, that is also explaned in the README. Another place to look for more spesific config defenitions is; /usr/src/linux/Documentation/Configure.help This file is used when you hit the "?" key in "make config" or menuconfig. The full kernel howto is; /usr/doc/HOWTO/Kernel.HOWTO.gz it could be in /usr/doc/faq/howto, the directory structure is different in some Distributions. Judgeing by you questions up till now, i think you will have more questions about making a kernel, if so PLEASE read all the documentaion first as in my experiance "ALL questions" are answerd there. > > > [Jerome Tan] > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Backup E-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > http://www.skyinet.net/users/jt888/ > mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?subject=pgpkey0 > ICQ=1850588 > > -- Regards Richard.
