Unfortunalty no, this wont work, or at least it will succide in some
aspects, do not forget that the UMSDOS filesytem has a very different  
directory structure, let alone permissions.

You could however try, why not, it will copy all devices connected via de
/dev directory for example if you have a cdrom mounted or not it will copy
the whole cdrom, copy a whole floppy, you just cant copy /dev/* period.
/proc will also cause havoc.

However Robert asked howto "convert" his umsdos system to ext2 which
possably cannot be done, simply becase his system is on a DOS partition.

The real answer in my opinion is reinstall linux.
