Hi!
I run minicom (not so sure what version, the one which comes with
RedHat 4.2) to connect to some BBSes. And all's fine right now. But
the problem is when I want to download something. If I don't run as
root I receive an unable to download, permission denied. If I run it as
rood all's fine but I receive a worning message which tells me not to
run as root, unless I'm making changes to setup. Those BBSes are run
under DOS and as far I can see, usually it's assumed that root owns
them. But why can't I download. Is there a switch or something that I
missed?
The second question sounds like this: from one BBS I could download all
files in lowercase. From another all files I downloaded were in
uppercase. DOS is case-blind. But linux ain't. There is no problem
with this, I can convert all names to lowercases, but what can be the
technical explanation?

        TIA
        Raider
