I have a pc that has WindoZe NT workstation on it. The drive is
partitioned into two part for NT. The first has NT on 900 MB. The
second is a data part of 100MB. It is configured and working fine on
the LAN to which the machine is connected.

I have installed RH5.1 on a partition that was created during the
installation from a distribution cdrom. The partition is 450 MB and is
labelled /dev/hd5. There is a swap partition of 64MB also. RH
installed fine. Only now I cannot get to the installation to complete
the customisation and configuration of the RH part. Earlier there was
an issue addressed about a boot floppy for the linux part of the system.
I followed those instructions without success. I also have read the
MINI-HOWTO on Linux-NT coexistence in a system. It recommends to access
linux to build a floppy to get the kernal to put onto the root of the
active system to dual boot. I have not been successful with this part
of the installation.

I would like to be able to make the bootable floppy from the
distributiion cd if at all possible so that I may boot into linux with
loadlin root=/dev/hda5 and get to the kernal. Is it possible to take
the vmlinuz file from the CD (the same one that is on the boot disk for
setup) and use it to boot to my linux area? Also, what do I need to
modify of the boot disk to get it to NOT load the setup program. If
either of these strategies would work, please explain them to me. I am
in need of this more stable OS for development needs.

Thanks,

John
