I've installed RedHat 5.1 hda5 and want to use loadlin.exe to boot it. When the boot disk is used, I have a beautiful Linux system running (slow to boot, though). On hda1 I have DOS 5.0 with Win95 4.00.950 over it. LiLo was installed to the MBR and gave a screenful of 1's & 0's instead of a multi booting option and it was a pain to remove it and replace all the software lost, so I'm kinda SHY of putting it any where except the root of Linux partition. I like to be able to hit F4 and then start a L.bat at the C:\ prompt then watch Linux start up. I suspect I've taken the wrong vmlinuz image to my DOS partition. All is well 'til time to login and the promt displays the following, one line at a time (slowly...) wrote 134/145 buffers wrote 10/11 buffers wrote 01/00 buffers wrote 00/00 buffers wrote 00/00 buffers wrote 00/00 buffers What's that !!?? and... How do I load ppp ? ( xisp tries to start it, but there is a "not loaded" message in a nxterm window). Thanks for your help. Jon Jon Dowd - Ashland, Oregon USA [EMAIL PROTECTED]
