Hi Folks
I am having problems recompiling my kernel after installing PPP 2.3.5. I
followed the instructions perfectly, by doing ./configure ; make kernel
in the PPP dir, then switched to the /usr/src/linux dir and did a make
menuconfig ; make dep ; make clean ; make zlilo but when i do the make
zlilo I get error messages after about 5 mins saying
***[ppp.o] *** Error 2
leaving directory
***[first_rule]
That is not as it said it, but I hope you get the idea! :)
Anyway I was upgrading from 2.3.4 to 2.3.5 Although when I boot up it
says ppp 2.2.0 but when i run my scripts to dial up it says ppp 2.3.4
satrted by root, Why does it not say at startup 2.3.4??
I had this problem before goig to 2.3.4, but when that happened I was
also tryiong to install my sound card and i thought that was causing the
problems wqith that, although when i ran make menuconfig I did not
change anything at all. At that stage I was using kernel 2.0.34 and no
matter what i did I ALWAYS got this message when trying to recompile I
got around it, by downlaoding new kernel source (2.0.35) and then
compiling that, and it worked.
Any advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
