installing my network card

[Doin' the Bull Dance, Feelin' the Flow...]

OK - I just got myself a used ethernet card to hook up to my Linux box...
Only problem is that I don't know where to start to install it.  I mean, I
physically put the card in, but I haven't had time to even turn the thing on
yet, so I don't know where to start in terms of getting it to run...

If someone could just point me in the right direction, I can probably figure
it out once I get started...its just where to start that is the problem.
