Ahhh...thank you, Tim. I remember when I read that you can get xdm to
run by defaulting to runlevel 5 I also read that this was *not* the
best way to do it, but there was no explanation as to why (although it
probably has to do with what Tim mentions about the text terminals
above, which I did not know). I couldn't remember it until now, but the
method Tim outlines above was offered as the "more proper" way to go.
