YEs by all means, it would make a Great non-xwin linux box!!

Just perk up your ram a bit..8MB makes a nice little system..

You can pick 1 MB chips up for $1 or $2 these days...You probably have 8
slots total.

I make a living from my 486 SX 25mhz linux box...believe it or not.

you'll need to do a pretty minimal install, of course, and only do  the
software you TRULY need, but my original instal was about 65 Meg...

Do a swap partition of 20 meg and it'll run just fine.
