When is it safe to turn off your linux PC? When I type "shutdown now" the
system sends TERM to everything and then displays "Enter root password for
maintenance (or press Ctrl-D for normal startup):" and stays there until I
do something. Is this the "It is now safe to turn off your computer" screen
or should I keep doing it the way I've been doing it until now (reboot and
wait for DOS to load, turn off at the DOS prompt)?
