No system is immune to viruses. There's thousands of viruses for DOS. We
start there. When Windows 95/98 came along people thought the threat was
neutralized because many of the viruses crashed under the Windoze system
(which just goes to show Windows really can crash anything :), and many of
them got a nasty surprise when a couple of months later the win95.* strains
of viruses started coming out. Mac users thought they were immune, and many
of them have gotten nasty surprises when they've found Mac viruses on their
system. Even the users of HP48 programmable calculators thought they were
safe, and were wrong.

>From what I've heard there's only about 2 or 3 viruses that infect Linux, it
might just be a rumor, but we shouldn't go so far as to say Linux is virus
free forever...
