Hi everybody !
I can connect to my ISP via "netcfg", "EzPPP" and "Kppp" (a Kde
application). In fact, it's a solved problem.
Anyway, as my brain is as hard as a cow's one, I'd like to do it through
console. Again and again... Just a matter of proud !!! (Is proud the
proper word in english ? :) ) I could connect sometimes but not to all
my two ISP.
So... as I have more than one ISP, some of my scripts should be changed
once and again (I guess) if I want to alternate connections to one or
the other.
So, my question goes to this point:
Is there some way to make "exec pppd..." with just a single line in bash
shell ??? Without a "defaultroute" (chatscript??? Which includes a line
with "atdtphone_number") And including "all I need", even writing in
this "command line" a DNS-catching nameserver ???
And another very important question (for me):
As "Kppp" (a kde application) can handle an Internet connection for
ANYONE even NOT being root I assume that ANYONE being (root or not) may
connect to an ISP (in fact, it is so: anyone can configure and perform a
connection to differents ISP and I checked by myself once and again, as
root and as non-root user), so:
Is it feasible to create a SINGLE LINE script so every user can connect
to a different ISP with his own script ? Perhaps changing it's owning
with "chown" and possibly saving this single-line-script in "~/" ???
I believe I read once that: ..."only root can connect to an ISP"... (not
sure about this) but doesn't seem to be true for Kppp. In my machine,
only root can handle "netcfg" and "usernet", but anyone may do it with
kppp.
Well, that's all. Hope anyone can understand me. :)
TIA !
