Umm. First off notscape is quite a leaky little memory hog. ie. Until
you actually shutdown the very last netscape window, it will still be
holding that memory.

Secondly I doubt muchly if there is a memory leak in linux or X. They
are too well tested and show very little signs of that. (ie. You don't
stay up for 200+ days if you leak memory)

One thing that would be happening is having swapped various daemons
and this that and the other out, linux leaves it there. I mean, why
call it back if you're not using it? As you continue working linux
uses nearly all free memory for disk buffers. If you touch one of the
swapped progs, it will slurp it off the disk, but not until then.

In a cluster of galaxies, one of many such clusters, there is a
galaxy. On the edge of this galaxy, is a star, one of millions of such
stars. Orbiting this star, is tiny ball of iron. On this tiny ball is
a very thin scum of lighter elements.

Some of which have delusions of grandeur.
