First a little background:
I am trying to get a Linux machine to work on my
network. All of the other workstations are
running Win 95 and the server is running NT. It
is a small home network, nine computers total. We
run TCP/IP protocol for the network and use
winproxy as our proxy server. The Linux box is
using RedHat 5.1 and all the default protocols and
etc.

Now the problem:
I can access the internet on the Linux box through
our proxy server easily with the same settings I
use for Win95. I can also see the Linux box on my
"network neighborhood." I can not access any of
the files on the Linux box. I can ping the server
and the other computers by IP address, but not by
name from the Linux box. Basically, what I would
like to do is save files on the Linux box from
other machines and I would like to see other
machines from Linux. Did I forget anything?
Anyone have any insight on this? I'm very new to
Linux and I apologize for my ignorance. Thanks in
advance for your help.
