You have no support for a floopy in your kernel, or 
no msdos support or
no /dev/fd0

Just thoughts of course, block devices are things like cdroms floppys etc.

Next time PLEASE include the FULL error message returned by your system, it
might not tell you much, but it will help me and others a LOT.
