I dont know where POP dumps its mail, but with ELM you can change folders
useing the 'c' command, so if POP dumps its mail in /var/spool/pop/* then
elm could be told to change to that folder to read the mail.
Permissions would be an issue if elm is started from a user account.

I dont know if this is what you meant.
