Sound card advice, & Application design.

Hello
  This is my first time, so be gentle..  I'm very new to Linux, and have
both Caldera and RedHat running on a p-200.  Is there a way to use my EES
sound card, or would I be better of investing in a SoundBlaster?
  Furthermore, do any Linux users create GUI apps using Fdesign??  Wouldn't
mind knowing how to incorporate code into the GUI, so far it's the best GUI
builder I've come across using Linux.
