FWIW, I've noticed that on my box (with a Western Digital AC32100 2GB IDE),
the BIOS and Linux fdisk report different things. BIOS says (in setup):
Pri Master: User, 4092 Cyl, 16 Hd, 65535 WP, 63 Sec, 2014 MB
LBA/Large Mode is on.
fdisk says 1023 cylinders and 64 heads.
