Changing from EGCS to GCC in Slackware 3.5

Hi,

This is my first time asking a question, so I hope that you guys can
really help me out.
I have installed the Slackware 3.5. It seems that it's using the egcs to
compile the kernel
and other C and C++ source files. How can I change the default compiler
to GCC instead of EGCS?
