I've started having some problems on my server machine. After two rings it
is now picking up the phone automatically, which I could do with out! I've
checked for signs of ttyS's and found none, I've gone into minicom, and
it's initialization string isn't causing it (I've now set ATS0=0, which
should stop it, don't know if it's worked yet). I haven't got mgetty, or
whatever it is that does fax/voice answering, so it shouldn't be that.
It's done this before, but since re-installing a while ago, everything
seemed to be running all right. I'm using the modem on my Windows machine
too (through modemd), this wouldn't be sending a signal to pick up
automatically would it?
