Some motherboards insist on you defining IRQ2 when its realy IRQ9.
Which is realy what you mean.

Possably something changed in the kernel which demands IRQ2 to be defined
instead of IRQ9. I say this because of the differance you have between
kernel versions.
Check weather IRQ2 is defined as "cascade" with  'cat /proc/intterupts'
