First is svgalib installed? If not it should be on your dis disk, it comes
ith every dis I've used, but some don't install by default, depending on
your dis, it will be a differant place possiably for each and maybe a
differant method of installing it. After it is install, there is a
directory in /etc called vga and there is a couple config files in there,
they should all be commented, I forget there names, but they will be in
that directory. Ussually the defualt conf file should work. Now it
should be installed and configed, the only thing about it is by default it
doesn't have the premission so that it could be executed by a normal user,
only root can access it on a default install, I haven't yet figured out
how to get a user to use a program that uses it.
So basically run quake as root,... yea this is a real good idea... but it
is the only way I have firgured out how to do it, I will read some of
those docs tonight and see if there is a work around for it, cause I use a
couple program that depend on that.
Also run quake in software rendering mode, the quake docs should explain
that, that's should be it.
Stay Chilled,
Bud
