I got a few mp3 encoders from freshmeat like 'balde encoder' and 8hz.
Blade is probably for glibc-2, so it does'nt work in my slack. 8hz was
fast, but for some reason the sound was distorted.
l3enc, sent by Mike is one of the oldest and slowest in this field. But it
works great. I don't mind burning the CPU for an extra hour if the sound
is good. Unfortunately it's a (expensive) shareware.
I will download a couple of more encoders. Linux and its people are really
great.
