Hello All,
I have a customer that wants to use IREX (Interenet Rex), for DOS to call my systems to
send and receive email in an unattended fashion.
They can get irex to dial, but it doesn't seem to be logging in successfully to my
system.
They actually got it to log in once, but on that occasion it wouldn't fire up pppd.
Here's the irex script they are using:
set interrupt 4
set baud 38400
set port 0x3f8
set init ATHZM@1L2|
set redials 5
set timeout 30
init
dial 98790935
send
waitfor ogin:
send xxxxxx
waitfor assword:
send xxxxxx
waitfor $
send exec /usr/sbin/pppd
# getip
I'm using a stallion EasyIO card, with ps-getty 2.0.7i. I'm using pppd2.2.0j. Kernel
veresion 2.0.30.
ip addresses are assigned statically by modem port, via the files
/etc/ppp/options.ttySx.
The options file looks like...
asyncmap 0
proxyarp
lock
modem
crtscts
netmask 255.255.255.0
The getty options are in /etc/default. This is a typical example...
altline=cua1
altlock=cua1
timeout=60
init=<modem init string>
hangup=yes
clear=no
debug=010
delay=1
FIDO=/usr/lib/ifmail/ifcico
EMSI=yes
Of course, I've tried it without the last two lines, which are used for ifmail.
We've tried IREX v0.96 and v0.98 for DOS. The results are the asme for both versions.
The
docs are very brief and give no explanation of what the program does, how or why.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
