I have always used Loadlin without any problems at all.  All you 
need to do is create a simple BAT file to boot Linux from the 
desktop (take that, Bill!.)  SuSE even recommends Loadlin for us 
dual-booters.  Check the aforementioned docs.  Also check your 
dist CD for info on it.  Red Hat and SuSE both had a how-to.
