Hey I was wondering How much memory your machine uses on average
I am a little concerned that I am using to much.
I use to boot to run level 5 until I realized that it was taking up 3-4% of my
memory.
I now boot to run level 3
X is taking up 13-14 % of my memory. :-(
I am also running gnome which takes up some memory.
Can this be reduced?
How can I improve my systems proformance and memory usage.
I am also having a problem with my video display. I am running a S3 virge video
card and when I exit out of X the screen is all messed up. It all readable
letters but their spread out all over the screen. like:
s at b sh# at]
I think the probe is throwing it off. Is there any way to tell X not to probe.
I did not see it in the man page.
