You probably need to make changes to the file /etc/XF86config . How you do
this varies by Linux distribution. Under Slackware, for example, you can run
xf86config and answer a series of questions; you can run XF86Setup (if you
installed it); or you can edit the file by hand (if you know what you're
doing). I'd imagine you have the right server; my S3Virge card ran fine with
the stock XF86_S3V server that shipped with Slackware.
