I'd imagine you have the right server; my S3Virge card ran fine >with he stock XF86_S3V server that shipped with Slackware. Well, I downloaded the latest server's source code from xfree86.org, and compiled it. Now I got XF86_SVGA and XF86_S3V. Problem is, when run XF86config , my video card is not listed in there, since I'm using the xf86config that came with redhat 5.0. I think if I get a later version things will work. Alternatively, if any of you guys have S3 Virge GX/2 (83C357 chipset), please mail your XF86CONFIG file to me, and I'll cut and paste the section for the video card and moniter etc. thanks, -sudkris- ____________________________________________________________________ Get free e-mail and a permanent address at http://www.netaddress.com/?N=1
