I've installed Q2 for linux using the HOW-TO found at
www.linux-howto.com (I've looked at the one on www.linuxquake.com too)
and I can play the missions fine, but when I try to play multiplayer
on the Internet, I'm having problems.

If I go to player setup under multiplayer I get an error message that
says "No valid player models found". I've tried copying again from
the CD, I've tried adding a symbolic link from the players dir to the
players dir on the CD, I've tried renaming the pcx's, I've tried
moving them into a different directory...I'm going nuts. Has anyone
ever seen this before? Is there something I'm missing?

Also when I try to connect to a Q2 server I HAVE to put in the port
number to connect. I'm running RHL 5.2 on an AMD K6-2 350 which is
using a 486 (also running RHL 5.2) as a dial out server. I have
IP-Masq set up to give access to the Internet to my small home LAN.
Is the firewall not allowing me to connect to the server without a
port #? I only have forwarding rules on the firewall (deny all
forwarding unless it comes from my LAN basically.) Any ideas?

Any help would be appreciated.
