no, i have some cd's with true type and type1 fonts. the type1 have the
adobe & windows version (AFM, PFB &PFM). but no fonts.dir files.

no, it only works with PCF, SNF, & BDF. according to the man page and
also it actually not working when i tried.

but wil it generate the fonts.dir file. the mkfontdir man page said both
these
files (fonts.scale & fonts.dir) are the same format, but are they the
same??
i'm wondering if it is even possible to use these fonts at all. would it be
easier
to install a true type server and install the tt versions i have?
