I don't recall the details of Red Hat's custom tools for X configuration.
The generic tools, which your system probably has, are:
xf86config -- walks you through the steps needed to create the
file /etc/XF86config, from which X gets its config info.
(This is what I acaually use, BTW.)
XF86Setup -- an X-based tool that tests some system parameters
and lets you set the others. Requires the VGA_16 server
(about as vanilla as X servers get) to run. (Personally,
I've tried this and found it less convenient and reliable
than xf86config ... but tastes do differ.)
SuperProbe -- gets and displays info about your video card. Always
handy, vital if you're using a salvaged video card that
lacks docs.
You could, of course, edit /etc/XF86config by hand, using your text editor
of choice.
