/etc/auto.misc is something like /etc/fstab. The 2.0.36 kernel have an
automounter daemon (amd) which mount devices more easy for user and
de-mount after a couple of minutes (if I don't use anymore that device).

Yes, I understand, but have you tried to put "auto" instead of "msdos"
or "ext2". This works for you?
