First, much thanks to all for the help so far. I've gotten much
further.

The modem is now ttyS1 on irq3

The remaining problem is that I haven't gotten setserial to accept the
UART as 16550 (or anything else.)
I'm pretty sure this is a PnP problem.

    Details:

    I don't have the modem documentaton. I'm trying to find something
online...
    Windows95 tells me that the UART is 16550.

    I've been through what I have on isapnp and haven't found an
answer yet.
