I'm not sure about this, but I have had the same problem at times when trying
to run an executable. "ls" sees the file, but "ldd" says 'no such file or dir'
and when I try to run it, I get the same response. It appears to mean that there
is one or more libs that are missing from the system.
I believe SO5 comes with a version of a lib (glibc??) that *must* be installed
in the proper location for the install script (and the executables) to run.
