Did you overclock the PCI bus or the processor? I have exactly the same
problems (freeze even on the console) whith an overclocked processor.
For the 10.6% uncontiguous, nevermind. fsck corrects this problem during
the boot. I think it's a problem with the disk cache dring the crash
