I wanted to say that you have to act like Houdini, under pressure, which is unpleasant. By the way, I gave up this way because I was not able to dissconnect at the end of the communication. I can not kill the pppd from the command line. Seems to be McCloud the immortal. I tried everything in the HOWTO. I tried to find out the number of the pid. I noticed that in each work session (I am using the computer only few hours/day) the system assigned another pid number to pppd. I could end the connection only using Minicom in X when I was leaving X. Can anyone tell me how I can kill the pppd ? Thanks Cristian Carnutu
