Hi,

i think i have a pnp sound card, as windows automatically gets settings for
it and they change when it is reinstalled. Will the new kernel support PnP?
when i was reading the sound howto it seemed to imply taht pnp support
would be in the kernel soon. Is there some way to get PnP cards to work in
linux if its not in the new kernel?

The sound card is an ess 1869, i just told it that it is a soundblaster. Is
this right? Or do i have to tell it some different settings? it wanted two
DMA numbers for a 16 bit card, but windows only gave one (the other was
listed as 0, where linux wanted 4,5,or 6 i think).

Thanks,
ben
