You must have made a mistake somewhere, an example would be;

/dev/hdd     /mnt/cdrom   iso9660 user,noauto,ro 0 0

man mount
man fstab

mount should look like and have permissions as shown here under.

-rwsr-xr-x   1 root     root        29732 Feb  7  1997 /bin/mount
