Hi Michael,
                from a story I heard from a guy here, he ended getting a
refund from the manufacture of the computer, in this case Toshiba (I think,
this was a while ago). I know you must not run windows at all, and
completely remove it from your computer. I think it took him about 3 months
of arguing with Toshiba, who would offer to refund the laptop, but not for
windows. Eventually they relented when it was obvious that they would lose
less money by refunding windows, than refunding the price of a laptop, that
had been superceeded,
