Not over, but mount it to an available spot, probably /mnt . That is, as
root from the command line, enter:
mount /dev/hda1 /mnt
changing hda1 to whatever is sppropriate for your system. Then check the
/mnt/etc/inittab and /mnt/dev/ttyS* files as I described previously.
I'm afraid I'm not sufficiently familiar with the RH boot sequence to
intepret the error message you posted. Perhaps someone else who uses RH will
be able to help with that part. But you can use it to localize the problem
... just use grep to find the rc file that echos the "umount" message you
quoted, then look for the problem occurring after it and befor ethe next echo.
