I've been reading the discussion of X managers and their resource usage and
I was wondering about any recommendations for laptops.

I've got reasonable resources - 96 Meg RAM, P266 w/MMX - so my only concern
regarding the 'footprint' of the window manager is my assumption that
smaller code is less likely to collide with other programs.

However, I've also got a 12.1" screen, 800x600 16bpp, and so I'm trying to
find a window manager that will minimze clutter.

Right now, I'm using AfterStep 1.6.6. The wharf is a useful way of getting
to programs, and the pager lets me exploit a virtual desktop. (I can put
the text editor in one panel, the graphics in another, and so on...)

However, I've been looking at the other windows and wondering if GNOME or
Blackbox might be better.

Are there any other laptop Linux users out there who can advise? Thanks in
advance.
