i'm a student of computer enggeneering PICT, pune ,india.
i'm planning to do a project on linux and i need some guidence and how
to implement it and and what problems will i face and whether it is
feasable or not .
NEED FOR SUCH AN APPLICATION IS FELT BECAUSE MOST OF THE HOSTS DO NOT
OFFER FREE NFS SERVER BUT THEY OFFER FREE FTP SERVER .
project : FILE SYSTEM INTERFACE TO FTP .
In order to give an application access to file on a remote host we can
mount the file system of the remote host on the local host .
The application would access the files as it would access the files on
the local drive . To the end user the application is transparent .
We will have to implement that part of the mount command which will
mount the file system of the remote computer on to the clients local
drive . Mount will use the FTPclient as and when needed . We shall write
this FTP client which will communicate to the FTP server.
